Act of Kindness #10

Act of Kindness #10
Make a meal for your family.
October 1st
I’ve spent a week to find the perfect dish to make for my family for dinner on Friday , and I’ve finally found it! I’m gonna make my own recipe of shrimp, macaroni  and fries. If you know me, you know that I’m obsessed with sea food, and it’s what I can cook best.
So i bought shrimps from the market , added my little spices and sauses and presented the masterpiece to my family, I also made fries, I fried them and cut them myself. I had to wash the dished whicc was the worst part but I’m surprised I enjoed that too, maybe because I was doing it fror the people I love.
They all enjoyed the meal and thanked me since it was so yummyyy! It was really nice, I helped mom by making the dinner and she took a rest from making a meal, my sisters enjoyed it and now I feel happy because their happiness means the world to me.

Act of Kindness #9 Pick your own act of Kindness

Recently I found a bunch of foreign currency in my closet I had accumulated after years and years of travel, from over five countries.

Most of it was spare change and bills, nothing worth more than about five dollars in a single currency. It would have been impractical to exchange such small amounts from so many different sources, so I decided to bring it with me and find people who were going on trips to the places from which I had currency
It took several weeks tofind people with trips matching the currencies I had, but it was so fun to give it to them , I gave dollars to one of my fellow friends in the club since she’s American and she goes there often, I gave some European Euro to one of my old teachers who’s actually from Switzerland. Unfortunately  I couldn’t find anyone going to Sweden anytime soon, so I decided to leave them till I find someone who needs it.

It made me smile to make money flow, in any currency. :-)

Pay for someone’s meal at a restaurant
On the 20th of October
A cheerful evening with my friends, having dinner , sharing thoughts and some gossip. It occured to me that I have a language arts project that needs to be done,so I looked over the tables and saw a group of friends just like us enjoying their time together,so I decided I would offer paying for their meal , I went over to their table and said hello and told them about paying the meal , they laughed hard  from the depth of their hearts , they thought I was joking around or I’m just having a laugh with it when in fact I was just being kind, but I guess people don’t really accept kindness with nothing in return.
I had to tell them the bitter truth, I informed them about the project , I didn’t wish to but I had to so they could believe me, as a result they actually accepted me paying for them.
“That was a weird experience “ I thought to myself.
It mare me feel proud of myself, because paying for a stranger’s meal isn’t that simple, it takes courage, time and obviously money ;) .
I’m so overwhelmed by the experience, it was a wondeful way to understand how humans think of random kindness.

Act of kindness #6
Donate your old clothes to those in need.
On September the 29th I collected my old clothes in hope of giving them to the needy, I’ve put everything in a cartoon and went to the donation box in the street and put my cartoon in it. I hope it arrives to whoever is in need , and I hope god will accept this giving from me.
As a muslim, doing charity is really important to me and lets not forget its one of the five pillars, so I felt so special, and I felt that i have inner peace .

Act Of Kindness #5

Act of kindness #5
Help out janitors at school/workers anywhere
On the 1st of October , I was out to study in a nearby cáfe, I come to it often since its calm and near. I’ve always noticed that the barista is an old man who has trouble collecting stuff to start making the drinks for people, he seems like he has problems in his knees because whenver he moves he starts muttering stuff about being tired, and his fellow workers never help out.
So today I decided it would be the perfect day to help him out during his entire shift, so whenever he needed something I went quickly to get it, he wants the milk to add it to the coffee so i run and bring it from the refrigerator.
When his shift was over, I said goodbye , but he stopped me saying “ You being a kindhearted teen who helps people for no reason just for the sake of being kind can truly renew my faith in humanity, thank you “
Those few words made me feel so alive, I felt like I can make a change in the world, I felt like I could make someone’s life easier.
This experience showed me that everyone regardless of how much money or time they have  they can make a significant impact on others and help make our world a better place.

Act of Kindness #4

Act of Kindness
Give a compliment to a stranger :
On the 5th of October , my sister and I were out in a library to buy some school supplies.
While flipping through notebooks, testing pens and makerkers , a really gorgeous girl walked by! And this is our conversation was like :
Me : “Um h-hi hello , we don’t know each other but I just wanted to tell you that you’re really beautiful.
Her : “Okay, say mashallah” then she walked away.
That was so embarrassing and awkward, I thought. But that actually taught me how to give an acceptable compliment to get a good response/reaction. Maybe she was self concious or shy, she might need compliment an artificial rather than natural attribute.
So I've found that people are less likely to feel embarrassed or threatened if you are very specific with your compliment.
The next day I wanted to try with someone else and see if they accept the compliment, so I decided to say “I love that Abaya you’re wearing , the color is beautiful and it looks really good on you".
And that actually went well, the girl said thanks and complimented me too.
These two experiences taught me how to be sincere, smile, and to not violate the stranger’s personal space while I speak .

Act of Kindness #3

Act of kindness :
“Give help to someone who badly needs it”.
On the 1st of October, I saw one of my friend’s tweets about wishing she could have a day maker, and another tweet about how bad her day was. So I thought that’s my chance! I can help and make her day .
I planned on bringing her some stuff that could help her feel better, first off I went to starbucks and bought her one of her favorite drink,I also went to the store and brought her some beautiful flowers and then I printed her tweet and wrote her a letter advising her and supporting her decisions no matter what.
Afterwards I went to her house and gave her the gift and offered help. She was surprised that I actually did that and thanked me alot. This experience made me feel so alive, I felt that I can make a change in someone’s life, I can offer help to everyone.
The smile on her face when I entered her house , made me feel glad that I did this act of kindness.
